Steve Hawes is the owner of Burgermeister, the Utah company that owns the franchise rights for Five Guys Burgers and Fries in Oklahoma. Hawes makes it a point to visit each restaurant opening to talk with customers about their experience.

 

Hawes related one especially amusing incident at a recent opening, when he spotted a slightly "hippyish" man sitting in the restaurant. When he went over to chat with the man about how he was enjoying the visit to Five Guys, he asked him what brought him to the store.

 

According to Hawes, the man said, "To be honest I'm actually a vegetarian. But I've just been hearing so much about your burgers that I had to come try one.
